A typical karate class incorporates a complete body workout, joint mobility and stretching exercises, strengthening exercises and martial exercise.

The foundations of what became karate began in the 6th Century as a series of exercises for health and well-being.

What evolved over the centuries was a complete system of both self-defence and personal development focusing on the mind, body and spirit of its exponents.

Yoshukai Karate is an effective style of karate and Kobudo are the ancient weapons of Okinawa.  The lessons of karate apply to all aspects of our lives - to study karate is to take a self-improvement course that has been refined over centuries and developed to be suitable for all ages, all body conditions and all fitness levels .

We are a family friendly group and our goals are to help each other be a little better tomorrow than we are today.  Each person who starts learning karate does so for their own reasons.  Some want to feel safer, some want to get fit or loose weight, some want to postpone the symptoms of aging.  

Learning karate is a journey that you can begin at any stage of your life.  Karate is like the ultimate time management course combined with a multi-vitamin.  The single activity of practising karate has numerous benefits that all occur at the same time.   The answer to achieving your goals in all aspects of your life lies within the study of karate. 

Students are often able to gain their Black Belt within the period of their studies.  Such an achievement is acknowledged by employers as a testament to the students ability to overcome any obstacle and succeed at any endeavour.
